HIRV Sooke River 2021

 


Sooke River Campground.  We had eight units attending and a visit from former members Terry and Helmut Ovie.  Missing were the Campbells as Evelyn was admitted to hospital.  We are hoping for a fast and complete recovery.




We had quite a variety of weather including a bit of badly needed rain.  But that didn't dampen spirits.


 Even though the Campfire ban was still on, the mighty propane fire ring provided by Roberta kept spirits high and everyone toasty warm.


Again, a special thanks to Maureen and Dennis for putting on the Breakfast-in-a-Bag. These two come up with the greatest ideas.



The wildest of the wildlife.



A great location with a good variety of things to do.  Downtown Sooke is minutes away and there are a variety of trails for hiking and biking.

 


Certainly a consideration for next year.

 Always a great view and always somewhere to walk to. With seven units attending, we had our club BBQ. Food and fun, that's what we are all about. A milestone for me, my sixth birthday (count the candles). Hope to see you all in Sooke later this month.

HIRV Kickoff Luncheon 2023

 April 12 saw our 2023 season kickoff luncheon at Boston Pizza on Turner Road in Nanaimo. The 2023 Itinerary was presented with an additional campout at Sooke River Campground in July Everyone enjoyed their lunch and we all look forward to the first Campout at Kin Beach on April 25th.
