Happy Islanders RV

  Our final campout of the year.  Beautiful fall weather with nine units attending including guests Kathleen and Steve Purse and Barb and Wolf Schlichting.  The Resort allowed us to use their clubhouse for our thanksgiving dinner.  We all enjoyed a BBQ chicken with an ice cream treat for desert. Other activities included a trip to the Little Qualicum Fish Hatchery.  Although the viewing area was closed because of Covid 19, we were able to see many of the spawning fish coming up the river. We also had some distinguished visitors from the surrounding area. And some not so distinguished. This area along with Lighthouse Park nearby has a great variety of hiking and biking trails. Look forward to coming here again .

Our first campout at Sooke River Campground.  Rather than through the mists we we looking through the smoke. It did clear before the campout ended and everyone had a good time.  Five units attended and we had a special visit from the Ovie's. The local residents. Definitely a do-over for next year.
